North Ferriby United midfielder Adam Bolder believes he can be a regular goal contributor this season after scoring his first hat-trick in over 15 years.
Bolder struck three times in Ferriby's 7-0 pre-season win at Selby Town on Tuesday and is determined to provide as many goals as he can from midfield.
The 33-year-old, who has Premier League experience with Derby County, is making the most of being asked to play further up field than he has been used to in his career.
"The hat-trick has been a long time coming," Bolder told the Mail.
"I was discussing it with my brother Chris and we reckon my last hat-trick was back in 1997 when I was a Hull City junior.
"The week after that I was involved in City's first team.
"I've scored a couple of goals in a few games but not managed a hat-trick.
"Billy Heath is playing me higher up the pitch and the chances have been coming my way.
"I hit the crossbar at Lincoln United last Saturday and I should have scored another that day.
"I hope I can score my fair share of goals from midfield this season."
In recent years, Ferriby have shared their goals throughout the team.
Midfielder Liam King chipped in with 16 in all competitions as Ferriby finished second in Conference North and missed out on promotion with back-to-back defeats to Guiseley in the play-offs.
Bolder accepts he has to battle for his place in manager Heath's side every week with three other midfielders vying for places.
"We have four very good midfielders in our squad who want to play every week," Bolder said.
"Nobody is certain to start every week and all I can do is stay fit and do as well as I can when I get my chance.
"Liam scored a lot of goals last season and Russ Fry and Jonathan D'Layrea can find the net too.
"It's a good headache for the manager to have.
"Nobody is getting carried away because this is the pre-season, but it's always good to be scoring goals and keeping clean sheets.
"That breeds confidence and there is a pride in this team that will not allow soft goals to be conceded.
"The thing so far is that we have played in three different formations and we have still managed to score goals and keep the opposition out."
