FORMER Hull City centre-forward Harry Cardwell has signed his first professional contract for Reading.
The Royals snapped up the 17-year-old last year for just £75,000 after spending seven years in development at the Tigers.
The former South Hunsley High School pupil played an integral role in Reading FA Youth Cup success last season, where they reached the semi-final stage, and he has opted to remain at the Madejski Stadium.
City's vulnerable youth set-up was partly to blame for Cardwell's exit, and the Tigers were known to be disappointed to lose the promising forward.
Speaking of signing his first professional deal, North Cave-raised Cardwell took to social media to address supporters.
"Really happy to have signed my first professional contract in football with Reading FC. Looking forward to the season ahead," he wrote.
