Hull KR have released prop Jonny Walker from the rest of his contract with immediate effect, following Wayne Ulugia's sacking earlier this week.
In a turbulent week for the Robins, which included coach Craig Sandercock departing the club, Walker has now been freed to find first-team rugby elsewhere.
The Mail understands the former Castleford forward and Ulugia had broken the club's drinking rules following the Robins' 34-4 home defeat to Warrington last month.
The pair have not played for the club since, and Rovers were keen to settle the matter swiftly following the pair's breaches of discipline.
With injury and suspension playing a part, Walker managed to take to the field just eight times for KR, who will no doubt feel let down by Walker who arrived to join his brother Adam at the KC Lightstream Stadium with plenty of promise.
Rovers head into tomorrow's clash against St Helens with Chris Chester at the helm, sitting ninth and three points off the play-off places.
