Our daily blog with the latest news, transfer rumours and gossip about Hull City in the Premier League. Just as the ink is drying on a £8m cheque written to secure the services of Jake Livermore from Tottenham, Hull City could be about to write another to land Norwich winger Robert Snodgrass. The Daily Mail reckons the Tigers will splash a the cash on a joint-record fee for Snodgrass, making it the club's most expensive summer in the transfer market.News has since emerged this morning that a fee has been agreed for the 26-year-old Scotland international and it appears those figures will not be too far off the mark. Snodgrass has been one of Steve Bruce's leading targets this summer, as we first revealed in May, and the progress made in recent days would point towards a deal being concluded sooner rather than later. With talks also at an advanced stage over a £4m deal for Michael Dawson, City's summer of spending could top the £20m mark before the month is out.
Forgotten man Sinclair attracting plenty of interest The Tigers may have strengthened their midfield with Livermore's signing, but how's this for an outside bet to accompany him? The East Grinstead Courier have Hull City among a number of contenders interested in rescuing Manchester City's forgotten man Scott Sinclair. According to the Courier, the Tigers, Southampton, Derby and Swansea are battling to sign the 25-year-old. Southampton have emerged as the bookies' favourites, despite reports over the past 24 hours that he is set for a return to Swansea. Sinclair failed to impress last season while sent out on loan to West Brom, and Manchester City are preparing to cut him free as they trim their large squad.
Figuerora heads off for his holidaysMaynor Figueroa is free to begin his summer holidays at last after Honduras bowed out of the World Cup finals with a whimper last night. The Central American minnows had pulled off a shock in qualifying for Brazil but the past 10 days have been a sobering affair. After a 3-0 defeat to France and a 2-1 loss to Ecuador, Figueroa's side were sent home without a point on the board when beaten 3-0 by Switzerland yesterday. Figueroa leaves the World Cup having played all 270 minutes of his nation's participation, but the search for a first victory in the finals must go on for at least another four years. In nine games at the World Cup finals, Honduras are yet to claim a maiden win.
