A TEENAGER was knocked off his bike in a hit and run this morning. Police are appealing for information about the driver of a bright orange, Vauxhall Astra soft top, who failed to stop after hitting the child in Hornsea. The 16-year-old boy was riding his bike outside the resort shop at Hornsea Lakes when the accident happened at 11.30am. After hitting the bonnet of the car, the boy was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary suffering "numerous bumps and bruises”. He was later given the all clear. The driver, thought to be a woman, drove off, and the accident was not reported to the police until 2.15pm. Anyone with information is asked to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting incident 318 of June 23.
