A WOMAN who was found hanging above her bed had been begging men for sex in the weeks before her death, a court has heard.
Dawn Warburton, 40, had sent texts and Facebook messages to several men before she was found dead in her flat in Westbourne Avenue, west Hull, on April 13 last year.
They included references to rape, choking, and being tied up.
Miss Warburton's cousin Mark Pickford, 41, denies manslaughter and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Prosecutors allege her death may have been the result of a "sexual game" between the two.
The court heard Miss Warburton's daughter Samantha had found explicit text messages between her mother and Mark Pickford.
She said in a statement: "They were about having sex. Mum says he is going to rape her and weird stuff like that.
"I saw messages from mum to another man. They were dirty messages, with mum asking him for sex.
"The picture I got was she was wanting to go with anyone to have sex."
Miss Warburton was found hanging naked from a rope which had been passed around her neck several times. When police arrived, they found Mark Pickford asleep beneath her.
Hull Crown Court heard Miss Warburton had also contacted an old friend via Facebook last Easter and quickly asked him for sex.
In one text message, she wrote: "I'm into some raged-up stuff, think you are too."
In a later message, she asked: "Got any tape and rope?"
The man said he arranged to meet Miss Warburton on April 10, but decided against it after being "put off" by what she wanted to do.
Miss Warburton's niece had logged into her aunt's Facebook page and found explicit messages to other men.
In a statement she said: "One was asking if she wanted to be raped, if she had skirts and suspenders. They made reference to gaffer tape and he said he would bring his tools.
"She was messaging a lot of males, which seemed to be her begging for sex."
Another man who gave evidence said he had "normal" sex with Miss Warburton after meeting her through a mutual friend on April 11 and went to her flat again the following day, when Mark Pickford was there.
He said they planned to have sex but he left before they did, giving her £50.
The court heard he had a gas mask in a sports bag that he had taken to her house.
Another man, who had sex with Miss Warburton on two occasions in April, said he smoked crack cocaine with her at her flat on April 12.
He said in a statement: "She told me she had slept with two men before I was there. I know she has a really high sex drive. Even so, I thought it was strange."
The jury was told Miss Warburton had been seeing a psychiatrist, but had told friends she was lying about having mental health problems to get more benefits.
However, her friend Nicola Watson said she had been taking antidepressants and other medication the psychiatrist had prescribed in large doses, which led to a "change" in her behaviour.
The trial is expected to last between two and three weeks.
