Wolves are currently playing a cagey game of sitting tight in the hope that the 21-year-old Sheffield United defender decides to opt to throw his lot in with them in the Championship. City have indicated they are prepared to match Wolves' current valuation of around £1.5m, but Ricketts, who won promotion to the Premier League with the Tigers, is convinced Maguire's development would be better served by choosing Wolves because he would have a chance of regular football, something he would be highly unlikely to get next season at the KC Stadium. "He will have more of a chance of playing every week here whereas if he went to Hull, he might get the odd Europa League game and that could potentially stunt his growth as a player," skipper Ricketts told the Express and Star. "If he came to Wolves, he could grow as a player and establish himself as part of a successful team. "But if you're not developing as a player, is it really worth going there? "That will be down to him and if he goes there, it's a case of does he want to push his own career or take a gamble? "You can go back to what Nigel Clough says and he thinks he would be better off staying at Sheffield United. But if he is going to go anywhere then why not Wolves?" Ricketts has backed Wolves' chase for the highly-rated centre-back, who has been United's player of the year three seasons running and been in the League One team of the year for the same period. "He's a player who there has been a lot of hype surrounding him," he said. "He's young and got a good stature and it looks like he's got a good attitude so he will only improve and get better. So if we sign him, hopefully he will be a good addition. "He's been their player of the year three seasons running and has been in the League One team of the year so there must be something about him."Lescott latest – and agent's confident he'll make right choice FOLLOWING news of the Tigers refusing to give up the chase on Joleon Lescott, the 31-year-old's agent's James Featherstone told Sky Sports News Radio his player will take his time to judge every offer that is presented to him. "Joleon's a good player. There's been a number of options put in front of him and his advisers, of which I'm one of in this particular situation," Featherstone explained. "Equally, he's an intelligent lad and he'll sit down with his family and take his time, and make the right decision. "But, for a player with his CV, of his calibre and with his experience, he'll always have options so I've no doubt he'll get what he deserves and what he wants this summer." Meanwhile, Stoke chairman Peter Coates has kept his cards close to his chest on the Lescott situation, and told Sky Sports: "We are not in talks with Joleon Lescott, but things can change quickly at this time of year."Muntari signs on in Milan AND finally, one-time Tigers target Sulley Muntari has signed a one-year contract extension at AC Milan, the Italian club has confirmed. The 29-year-old midfielder's previous deal expired in June 2015, and City were reportedly leading the chase along with West Ham for the African star's signature. However, a statement from AC Milan read: "AC Milan announces Sulley Muntari has signed a contract until June 30, 2016." Midfielder Muntari, who is currently competing with Ghana at the World Cup in Brazil, joined the Rossoneri in 2012 from Inter Milan. Since then he has scored 11 goals in 66 appearances for Milan. Muntari, who scored five goals in 26 league appearances for Milan in the 2013-14 campaign, played at Portsmouth and Sunderland earlier in his career. Milan finished eighth in Serie A and failed to qualify for European football for the first time since 1998.
