The 30-year-old began the season in the second row on the left but KR coach Craig Sandercock believes he can be more effective in the middle after recovering from a hamstring injury earlier in the season.
Langley is comfortable with that and hopes the switch can make the team stronger as they look to book their place in the play-offs.
"It's good to be back playing after returning from injury," Langley told the Mail.
"I'm enjoying playing a different role at the minute.
"I started the season in the back row but I'm now coming off the bench playing in the middle.
"Sandy has seen something I've been doing in the middle and between me and Neville Costigan we're playing in that middle role.
"I'm enjoying it, but not at Castleford."
The Tigers' 54-12 win was a wake-up call to Rovers after three games unbeaten before their trip to the Mend-A-Hose Stadium.
Langley admits it was a harrowing experience, but he insists it was just a bad day at the office, and they need to bounce back against Warrington next time out.
"We haven't become a bad team overnight," he said.
"But against teams like Castleford and Warrington, you can't afford to make errors.
"Castleford complete at such a high percentage so to give penalties away and turn the ball over cheaply, they will punish you.
"You can't be on the back foot constantly defending and expect to come out on top in these games. It's not possible.
"There are no easy games in Super League.
"We know we are a good football side and that's what is so frustrating about going to Castleford and losing 54-12.
"It's devastating because we know we are a good side."
Langley knows his team have to defend better against Warrington, otherwise the Wolves will make it another challenging experience.
Castleford exploited a weakness on Rovers' left hand side in Kris Welham and Wayne Ulugia and kept returning to that side to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Langley knows the left hand side of their defence is one area that Sandercock will look to improve before facing Warrington.
"We have to learn from the Castleford defeat," Langley said.
"They caught us on our edges early on a few times.
"Sandy pinpointed the left edge so we'll look at the video and see where we went wrong and put it right.
"We need to improve the little things like concentration.
"We were caught offside from kicks and we turned the ball over early in sets.
"We go into games looking to complete our first five sets and to do that we need to be a lot more composed and professional."
