Nottingham Forest are expected to resume efforts to sign Hull City striker Matty Fryatt today after the Football League's loan window opened. A three-month "emegency loan" could be agreed - followed by a permanent deal in January. The Reds are expected to have a busy few days, with moves muted for Middlesbrough's Grant Leadbitter, Wolves' Bakary Sako and Newcastle's Gabriel Obertan. City, meanwhile, will wait to see if clubs come forward for Aaron Mclean. Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson would love to see his former striker return to London Road, but admits a deal is unlikely because of Mclean's wages and desire to play at Championship level. Barnsley have also shown some interest. Talking of transfers, former Tigers favourite Stephen Hunt, 32, is on the verge of signing for Blackpool. Hunt has been a free agent since leaving Wolves in the summer and more than one fan suggested Steve Bruce could do worse than make a deadline day move for the hard-working winger.Lies and statistics At least one of Hull City, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion WILL be relegated back to the Championship at the end of the Premier League season, according to The Daily Star. That's because OPTA stats show at least one of the bottom three teams after three games has always gone down. QPR were the victims last season, when even Harry 'Houdini' Redknapp could not do enough to overcome a slow start. Of course, you can prove anything with statistics and the Tigers' faithful will rightly point out that, of the three matches so far, City have won the game they had a genuine chance of winning (and with ten men) and acquitted themselves well in defeats at two of the top four clubs. Wiser followers of football have always counselled more fickle fans to wait 10 games before judging the quality of their team and if City can beat Cardiff at the KC Stadium on Saturday, they'll climb straight out of the (fairly irrelevant right now) relegation zone. Let's face it, every game in the Premier League is a "crunch" match for Hull, but there's certainly some anticipation growing for this one - with Cardiff sayign they are close to selling out their allocation of tickets. The pair have never met in the top flight but there have been plenty of meetings over the years in the lower leagues. As it stands City have won 21 of those matches, Cardiff 19, with another 19 drawn. Oddschecker.com have City favourites as low as 6/5, with Cardiff as high as 11/5 and a draw at 9/4. Danny Graham is tipped to score his first competitive goal for City at 6/1, with Gedo - who appears unlikely to feature - third favourite at 11/2. That probably says more about the Tigers' lack of striking options than it does about any inside information the bookies may have.Gosschalks extend Tigers sponsorship Law firm Gosschalks has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the dugouts at the KC Stadium for the 2013-14 Premier League season. Hull City commercial manager Simon King said: "Gosschalks' on-going dedication and commitment to Hull City is invaluable and we would like to thank Steve Savage and Gosschalks for their continued and fantastic support." Steve Savage, Business Development Director at Gosschalks, said: "Our renewed sponsorship of the dugouts will help us to maintain not only our local but our strong national brand presence too. It's also a great way for us to show our ongoing support for a club which means a great deal to the local community. On behalf of the partners and all the staff at Gosschalks, we'd like to wish everyone connected with Hull City the very best for the coming season."Next generation hit Grimsby for six Billy Russell's Hull City Juniors crushed Grimsby Town 6-0. Sam O'Connor scored a hat-trick and there were goals too for Ryan Fallowfield and Devonte Morton. Josh Clackstone will be keen to claim the other - his header went in off a Grimsby defender. Tigers: Rory Watson (Joe Walker 64), Jake Rose, Leon Dawson, Ryan Fallowfield, Josh Clackstone, Alex Penny, Will Annan, Eoghan McCawl, Sam O'Connor, Devonte Morton (Ben Hinchcliffe 67), Jake Buckle (Dan James 46).
