STEPHEN Quinn will get the chance to prove his fitness for Hull City's home clash against Cardiff on Saturday after receiving a late international call-up. Quinn, who came on as a 70th-minute substitute in the 2-0 defeat at Manchester City, is now fully recovered from a hamstring injury sustained in pre-season and has linked up with the Republic of Ireland for tomorrow's must-win game against Austria.
Called up to replace Glenn Whelan, who sustained a hamstring niggle in the 2-1 World Cup qualifying defeat to Sweden on Friday night, the City midfielder is in contention for a place on the bench in Vienna tomorrow night. Needing a win and for other results to go their way to stand a chance of going to Rio 2014, any involvement for Quinn could help convince Tigers boss Steve Bruce he is ready for a start against the Welsh outfit at the KC Stadium.
