Hull FC prop forward Mark O'Meley has played his last game of rugby league after being forced to retire with a knee injury. The 32-year-old Australian was set to call time on a glittering career at the end of the season, but has now been ruled out of the rest of the campaign with an injury sustained in the Challenge Cup final defeat to Wigan. It brings the end to a four-year spell at Hull and a career that includes an NRL Grand Final win, Australian Test and State of Origin representation. In a press release issued by the club, O'Meley said: "It's a premature ending but it's good to be able to say my last game was at Wembley in a big final with a good bunch of guys and all the Hull fans behind us. It's a bit saddening and I wouldn't have minded having a couple of last hit-outs with the boys before retiring at the end of the season, but everybody has made me feel welcome, the supporters have been awesome to me, the club's been tremendous and I've made some really good friends here." O'Meley has made 90 appearances in his four seasons with Hull, scoring 13 tries and winning many admirers for the aggressive no-nonsense way he plays the game.
