Rapid Solicitors Hull Stingrays travel to face English Premier League Sheffield Steeldogs tonight buoyed by their 9-0 win over Edinburgh Capitals in a pre-season clash at Hull Arena.
An impressive first outing for a new strike line of Matty Davies, Jereme Tendler and Guillaume Doucet proved the highlight with two goals each, new signing Omar Pacha also found the net, while the icing on the cake was provided by two late goals from Bobby Chamberlain.
Player-coach Sylvain Cloutier said: "It was a good work-out and good to get the legs going. These four exhibition games are about getting to know each other, getting our systems working and making sure everyone is on the same page by the time we play Nottingham.
"It was good for Doucet to get a couple of goals in his first game, Pacha also scored and (Matt) Suderman was solid back there. I also thought Jamie Chilcott and Scott Robson had good games, they were very composed."
Tendler, Stingrays' player of the year, players' player of the year and forward of the year in 2012/13, took just 138 seconds to put Stingrays in front while Derek Campbell, back for a second spell at Hull Arena, saw his shot hit a post towards the end of the first period.
Davies made it 2-0 just 51 seconds into the middle session, Tendler (31.45) and an Pacha rocket (32.21) put Stingrays 4-0 ahead with fellow new recruit Doucet adding a fifth at 36.31.
Doucet, who also notched four assists, scored his second at 49.29 and Davies also doubled his tally (52.51 delayed penalty goal) before a late quickfire late brace from Chamberlain (54.18 and 54.58) - the first a stunner - rounded off the scoring.
The ninth goal prompted a Capitals time-out and Stingrays netminder Ben Bowns then completed his shut-out.
