EMPLOYMENT: Housing developer Beal Homes has taken on two new apprentices.
Adam Holmes, of Brough and Jamie Simpson, of Thorngumbald, both 17, joined the firm this summer to complete their two-year apprenticeships after completing their first year of study at Hull College.
The pair will be guided by two of the company's qualified plasterers, Stephen Roe and Philip Watts, who have been with Beal Homes for ten years.
John Goodfellow, Beal Homes' construction director, said: "Philip and Stephen are very good tradesmen and have considerable knowledge and skill to pass on to Jamie and Adam.
"We are keen to grow our plastering team and these two young chaps were highly recommended by Hull College.
"They are both bright and enthusiastic and I'm sure they will succeed."
The pair will work on projects including The Village and Westwood at Kingswood Parks in Hull, St George's Court in Willerby, The Nunings in Nafferton, The Ridings in Walkington and a new development to be launched this year, The Wickets in Welton.
They will also spend one day each week back in college.
Following the latest recruitment, Beal Homes, which is celebrating 45 years in business this year, now has four apprentices.
Mr Goodfellow said: "There's some great young talent out there and Beal Homes is keen to take on additional apprentices to generate the high-quality skilled tradesmen of the future who will enable us to continue to build homes to the highest standards for years to come."
