HULL FC play-maker Daniel Holdsworth is determined to get one over on former Salford team-mate Matty Smith when the pair go head-to-head at Wembley this weekend.
The 29-year-old stand-off never got close to the Challenge Cup final during his three seasons with the City Reds, but can't wait to realise his dreams in his first season with the Black and Whites.
And if he's to get his hands on the famous old trophy, he knows his team-mates must limit Smith's threat for Wigan.
"Matty is a great bloke and a great little player too," Holdsworth said. "It will be exciting for him as well.
"He moved on at the same time as I did. He's played well this year and taken his game to a new level. I'm sure he'll be ready.
"When a big club like Wigan comes in for Matty, he's obviously going to go.
"It was the same with me when Hull started speaking to me - it was a no-brainer. I loved my time at Salford but, footie-wise, coming second last is not what you want.
"In the last few years when I've watched the final, I always thought it would be amazing to get the chance to do that and now it's happening."Hull FC at Wembley: 24-page pull-out, free inside tomorrow's MailOur essential guide to the Challenge Cup final, featuring an extensive interview with Daniel Holdsworth, plus:• Why Kirk Yeaman wants to end Hull's Wembley hoodoo• Tom Lineham dream of scoring the match-winning try • Andy Lynch determined to shine in first major final
