A POPULAR Hull boxer says he is "gutted" after the gloves he wore for one of his most prestigious fights were stolen.
Tommy Coyle had around £2,000 worth of his gym gear and equipment stolen from his truck on Sunday.
Among the items taken were the gloves he wore when claiming the WBC International Silver Lightweight title.
He is now appealing for members of the public to help him get his prized possessions back.
Speaking about the theft, the lightweight fighter, nicknamed Tommy 'Boom Boom' Coyle, said: "I am absolutely gutted.
"Some of the items I can replace, but its the sentimental value of things which has really upset me."
The hometown hero had parked his blue Toyota truck outside the 1884 restaurant on Hull Marina on Sunday evening.
He returned to the truck yesterday to find his black Nike training bag was missing.
Items in the bag included the pair he was wearing to claim the WBC International Silver Lightweight title in 2010.
The victory, against Portugal's Antonio Joao Bento, came in just 52 seconds.
Other items taken include three other sets of gloves, a head guard, boxing pads, body protector and skipping ropes.
Also in the bag were a number of personal items including his wallet, good luck cards from family, friends and fans, and a cross he uses to pray with before every fight.
He said: "I am so gutted.
"The bag wasn't even on display for anyone to see.
"I just hope someone reading this knows something about what has happened and returns the items to me as soon as possible." The boxing star took to social networking site Twitter to tell of his despair to his 8,000 followers.
He said: "My car has been broken into and my training bag has been stolen.
"Please re tweet and contact me as soon as possible.
"I am gutted, all my training gear has gone."
Coyle is now offering a reward for anyone who has information, leading to the training bag being found.
It is believed the items stolen are worth between £1,500 and £2,000.
He said: "Some of the items stolen had been given to me by my family.
"I hope I can get them returned to me.
"It's been a nightmare, I have had to cancel all my cards as well because of having my wallet stolen."
Anyone with information about the theft should contact police on 101.
