A seagull which was found covered in oil and unable to fly has been released back into the wild.
The gull, named Theodore, was found in Hull last month but, after four weeks at the city's branch of the RSPCA, he was released at Hessle Foreshore.
Inspector Hannah Bryer said: "He was thin and tired. He was kept at the animal centre with continued baths, plenty of food and rest.
"Releasing rehabilitated animals back into the wild is one of the most satisfying parts of my job. We are called to deal with sick and injured wildlife everyday but sadly a lot of these animals are too badly injured to be saved.
"It was great to see Theodore fly off across the Humber."
