MORE than 3,000 cup final tickets for Wembley have already been sold as hundreds of fans swooped on the KC Stadium yesterday.
Dozens of supporters queued for almost 24 hours, camping out at the stadium so they could bag the best seats.
By 9am yesterday morning, there were about 1,000 fans queuing a round the stadium.
Hull FC face Wigan in London in the rugby league clash on Saturday, August 24.
The Black and Whites have received an initial allocation of 15,000 tickets, which can be increased if required, and they are likely to sell out.
James Clark, head of communications, media and marketing at Hull FC, said: "It was quite an extraordinary day at the KC Stadium and, again, one that shows just how passionate our supporters are for this club.
"Our tickets have been on sale for season pass- holders and we have had somewhere in the region of 2,000 people down on Wednesday alone, with even more bookings done online and over the phone.
"That sort of support is humbling for the players, the staff and the club on the whole and a brilliant representation of the people of Hull once again."
Despite the demand yesterday, there are still more tickets available.
Mr Clark said: "We have plenty of tickets to go around and plenty more of our allocation left that will get us through to general sale next week, as well as additional allocation on standby should we need to request it.
"The prospect of having one entire side of Wembley painted Black and White with Hull FC supporters from across the country is such an exciting thought and something that will definitely help the team as they look to get their hands on the Challenge Cup trophy."
John Dickinson, of west Hull, was the first to grab the sought-after tickets.
John, who has been a Black and Whites fan for more than 40 years, said: "It's fantastic to get the tickets and it was worth camping for.
"It is worth it to get the right seats and we are really excited about the final.
"We feel like we've got Willy Wonka tickets."
John was sitting with fellow fans Ian Norton, son Josh Walgate and friend Donna Parker.
Mr Norton, 44, said: "It has been brilliant and we've had a right laugh.
"We want the best seats in the house, particularly for my two boys.
"I think it's going to be our year this time round."
Eight years after Hull FC last lifted silverware and five years since their last Wembley appearance, they will get the chance to claim the game's oldest trophy.
The team had to survive a torturous final, with a shock Tetley's Challenge Cup semi-final win against Warrington.
Margaret Hoggar, of Thorngumbald, arrived at the back of the queue but did not mind.
She said: "I knew there was going to be a long queue but that's fine, so long as I get a ticket.
"I'm really looking forward to it and we are definitely going to win."
