A man hopped on a motorcycle and rode off as the owner pushed it down an East Riding road.
The victim had been pushing his yellow and black Suzuki RM125 bike down Hull Road in Easington when three men in a car pulled up in front of him.
A passenger got out of the car and asked to try the Suzuki.
He then sat on the bike, which had its engine running, and rode off before the owner could stop him.
The two other men drove off in the car, described as a silver Renault Scenic.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime reference number 1987386.
