A HORNSEA slimmer who has shed more than 12st has been congratulated on his weight loss by Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie.
Rob Prince, 39, was praised after reaching the final ten in The Slimming World Man of the Year.
Samia, who plays Maria in the soap, said: "He doesn't only look fantastic since losing weight, he has also improved his health and is feeling more confident.
"He must be such an inspiration to all of the other slimmers in his group."
Mr Prince said: "I was pleased when I found out I'd made the finals of Slimming World's Man of the Year competition, but I didn't lose weight to win a competition.
"I did it to improve my health and to be able to do more with my family, and I've done that, which is the best prize I could ask for.
"My family and friends are really proud of me for doing something about my weight, because they know it made me unhappy and they were worried about me."
The Hornsea Slimming World group meets at the Hornsea Town Council building on Wednesdays at 5.30pm or 7.30pm and Thursdays at 9.30am.
