A lorry driver arrested and bailed following a fatal road traffic accident has not been charged with any offence.
Robert John McGoran, 71, died instantly after he was struck by the heavy goods vehicle at a pedestrian crossing in Holderness Road, east Hull.
Mr McGoran was at the pedestrian crossing close to Holland Street when he was hit by the Dutch-registered vehicle at 1pm on Friday, April 26.
The 36-year-old male lorry driver was arrested and bailed shortly after the accident but Humberside Police and prosecutors have decided not to charge him.
An inquest into Mr McGoran's death has already been opened and adjourned.
