ORGANISERS of the second Humber School Games are already planning for 2014 after this year's hugely successful two-centre Grand Final.
Around 1,500 athletes competed across 11 separate sports at Hymers College and Costello Stadium.
Both venues provided excellent surroundings for what was a superb and hard-fought day of competition from schools representing the four regions of East Riding, Hull, Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

The day started with an opening ceremony to welcome the teams to the event.
The audience was treated to performances by two local schools, Kelvin Hall and Wolfreton, who performed a street dance piece and some Irish dancing respectively.
The Games were officially opened in brilliant sunshine by British long jumper Chris Kirk.
Following the opening ceremony the sports competitions all got underway and all competitors did very well to give their all with the temperature rising. Success was seen from across the Humber, but it was the Hull and East Riding schools who really shone, claiming top spot in many of the sports.
The day was supported by around 150 young leaders from local schools, colleges and universities who all gave up their time to ensure the event was delivered to a very high standard.
Gary Sainty, Partnership Engagement Manager at the Humber Sports Partnership, said: "It's great to see so many young people taking part in sport and the smile on their faces is evident that they are enjoying the event.
"We have seen some exceptional talent on display throughout the competitions.
"We hope that they continue to become the next sporting superstar.
"This event has only come together through hard work which is a credit to those involved, including the Humber Sports Partnership, School Games organisers, PE staff, national governing bodies and the volunteers involved from local clubs."
The Humber School Games will take place again throughout the next academic year.
