WINNIE The Pooh and Tigger are among the children's favourite TV characters who have set up in an East Riding garden as part of festive celebrations.
The cartoon characters are among several taking pride of place at Linda Wilkinson's home in Everthorpe.
It is all part of her colourful festive display, which puts the street in the mood for Christmas.
For the 57-year-old, the preparations for the festivities started long before the shops even started selling advent calendars.
"I've been doing it for more than five years," said the charity volunteer.
"The work on this year's display started in the summer, with me drawing the designs.
"I make all of the designs out of plywood.
"It all started when I went to Disney World in Florida around Christmas and saw all the characters.
"I thought I could do that here."
The colourful characters this year include Father Christmas and his reindeers on the wall. Bob The Builder, Goofy and Dora The Explorer are all displayed along her fence.
Linda said: "I do it to make the streets a bit brighter and I think it lifts up people's spirits.
"People are fed up with life and there is so much misery that I want to brighten up everyone.
"There used to be a lot more lights, but not as many people seem to be putting up Christmas lights.
"The kids love it and even my postwoman brings her kid to have a look.
"It's nice to see people smiling."
Each year Linda creates new designs, speaking to the young people to see what they would like to see.
This year the honour of deciding what was designed went to Linda's four-year-old granddaughter Chloe Wilkinson.
Linda said: "The good thing about the designs is the fact they also look good during the day and there aren't too many wires all over the place.
"On a night I light them up with a spotlight.
"My favourite are the Disney characters.
"Last year I made The Simpsons but now I have put them away in the shed.
"When I was younger, people decorated inside but not outside their homes.
"People in America used to do it but then it started to become popular in this country.
"I just think it is worth doing for a couple of weeks if it makes people smile."
Garden centres have seen an increase in Christmas light sales this year.
Roy Evans, garden centre assistant at Coletta and Tyson in Beverley, said: "Every year we seem to see an increase. People are putting more up.
"I think they like to compete with the neighbours. It is once a year and it is also for the kids.
"We have a wide range on offer.
"This year the white and blue outside lights have been the most popular – it gives the snow effect.
"Indoor it is the multi-coloured lights."
