Chief constable visits officers in iPad trials
EAST YORKS: Humberside Police Chief Constable Justine Curran has been to see how police officers are using iPads as part of a trial.
Ms Curran visited the officers in the Cottingham neighbourhood policing team this week.
Police and crime commissioner Matthew Grove is hoping to issue every officer with an iPad or iPhone to reduce the amount of time they spend completing paperwork in police stations.
He believes it will save time and money and increase the amount of time officers are out on the beat.
After the visit, Ms Curran used the social networking site Twitter to write: "Visit to Cottingham neighbourhood team to see mobile data pilot. Challenged them to get on Twitter."
