HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock has praised young prop Adam Walker for helping Rovers' pack lay the foundations for their recent good form.
The Robins will be looking to chalk up a fifth successive win against Salford, with Walker again expected to play a big part.
The former Huddersfield front rower has developed well under Sandercock, and is a key part of the coach's plans to start games on the front foot.
"Adam is a young player we signed for the long term and there is still plenty of improving in him," Sandercock told the Mail.
"It's pleasing to see him working hard on his game and showing that improvement. It's important every player plays to their best.
"Our forward pack have been holding up well in recent weeks and hopefully they will continue to do so."
Walker, who was sent off in the final minute of the first meeting with Salford this season, has started 15 of the 18 games he has played for the Robins this season.
Most of them have been alongside Mickey Paea, as they have been tasked with putting KR on the front foot, and providing the space for half-backs Michael Dobson and Travis Burns to thrive.
And if his forwards continue to dominate their opposition, Sandercock is confident his halves can find another level.
"Travis and Michael have been playing really well lately. They are starting to gel and hopefully that will blossom for the rest of the year," he said.
"If the pack continue to do well that will be reflected in great performances from Michael and Travis."
Dobson's decision to return to the NRL next year means the KR coach will again have to form a new half-back partnership for the second successive season, having lost Blake Green to Wigan at the end of last year.
But he is confident they will end the season in style, with Dobson in particular keen to be at his best.
"It's disappointing for our club that the pair won't be continuing next season, but I couldn't be happier for Michael," he added.
"Nobody deserves it more than him. It's not about keeping our confidence, it's about working hard and making sure the boys do their individual and team work and leave no stone unturned.
"Games and confidence are lost when you don't prepare properly.
"The boys are working hard on the training pitch and that work is reflected in games."
