A MOTHER and daughter have been banned from their own home after making neighbours' lives a misery.
Police have been granted a closure order forbidding anyone from entering the council property in Troutsdale Grove, east Hull.
Denise Sawyer and her daughter, 14, threatened and abused their neighbours after they complained about all-night parties and visitors at all hours.
An elderly man, a disabled man and a family with young children were particularly targeted by the pair.
PC Andy Baxter, antisocial behaviour officer for Hull, said: "Since the police have been involved and complaints have been made, things have escalated.
"The residents were at the end of their tether and have been very upset and distressed by what was happening.
"Their sleeping patterns were affected because there has been noise, banging, loud music and lots of visitors at all hours of the day and night.
"They were also being threatened and verbally abused. The neighbours weren't getting any rest from it."
The disabled man was also assaulted by one of the visitors to the house.
After the order was granted, Sawyer posted on her Facebook page: "boo whacka shack lol lost me flat BUT takin me tag off ha ha ha ... Got 12 month conditional discharge instead ... feel a few pints arising xx".
She later wrote: "... ant lost me flat tho just closed it down 4 3 months".
On June 23, she posted a picture of documents that had been served on her by police, accompanied by the caption: "all these are statements logs n complaints namin everything n everyone wots been in me flat over the past months ... bless wot a waste o paper."
She added: "Makes good readin tho lol".
In the six weeks before the order was granted on Wednesday, police received 30 separate complaints about the property, with the same number reported to the council.
Officers from Hull City Council have been trying to repossess the property but police decided to seek a closure order when the problems escalated.
The order means if anybody enters the property before the end of September, they could face up to six months' imprisonment.
A notice explaining the order has been put on the outside of the property.
PC Baxter said: "They were relatively new tenants and there have been problems since day one. The council were seeking possession of the property, but things were escalating.
"We explored all of the options and ultimately went for the closure order, which makes it a criminal offence for anybody at all to enter the property. We wanted to protect the residents from any further abuse and threats and this is a way of removing the family who were causing the problems. Hopefully, this means their quality of life will improve and they will be able to lead normal lives again.
"This is a normal, residential street which has had no other problems. Hopefully that is what it will go back to now."
Justine Mortimer, neighbourhood nuisance manager at the city council, said: "Humberside Police and Hull City Council will work together to take all necessary action against people who commit antisocial behaviour.
"It is not acceptable that individuals can affect the peace and quality of life of others residents. Miss Sawyer was given every opportunity to amend her behaviour."
