HULL City owner Dr Assem Allam has told supporters he will do his utmost to keep the newly promoted club in the Premier League for many years to come.
The chairman underlined his ambition for a sustained stint in the top tier in a letter to the Hull City Official Supporters Club (OSC) following the Tigers' promotion back to the top flight.
The OSC has told Dr Allam it would like to see a legacy for the future, such as an improved academy or better facilities for the fans.
Dr Allam told the OSC: "I am very proud of all that has been achieved in the past two-and-a-half years of owning the club.
"I am delighted for the fans, players, staff and the community of Hull and East Yorkshire, all of whom I hope will benefit greatly."
Thanking the OSC for the fans' support, Dr Allam said: "I will continue to do my utmost best for the club to ensure that we remain in the top flight of football for many years to come."
Dr Allam's pledge came in response to a letter from Tony Conway at the OSC, congratulating the owner on Hull City's promotion.
Mr Conway, who is the OSC's outgoing chairman and new honorary vice-president, also called for "a legacy for the future".
He told Dr Allam: "I am sure you will handle the Premier League much differently to your predecessors, financially, commercially and on team strengthening.
"We would also ask that this time there will be a legacy for the future, whether it is an indoor training centre, an improved academy/school of excellence, or improved facilities for the fans – something concrete and long-term must come out of this promotion.
"Also, please don't stop being ambitious for there are many goals to aim for.
"Hull City has never progressed beyond the fourth round of the Football League Cup, never reached the FA Cup final, only ever been in one FA Cup semi-final and never played in a major European cup competition.
"Plus, we would all like to experience another trip to Wembley. So no pressure from the fans!"
Mr Conway thanked Dr Allam for all he has done to achieve the club's "remarkable promotion".
He said Hull City fans around the world were "over the moon" to be back in the top flight.
Mr Conway also congratulated Dr Allam for his courage in making managerial changes last season, when Nick Barmby was controversially sacked, ending an eight-year association with the club.
He also praised Dr Allam for his judgment in appointing Steve Bruce as manager and his wisdom in giving him his full backing.
Mr Conway said Hull City supporters were now looking forward to an enjoyable 2013-14 season among the "big boys" of the Premier League elite.
He told Dr Allam the OSC has been in discussions with Tigers' managing director Nick Thompson and it is looking forward to working with him and helping him improve relationships with fans.
