CHRIS Green says he's still not come down from cloud nine after a week to remember ended with a new three-year contract.
The 23-year-old has established himself as a starting prop for Hull FC this season and his form has been rewarded with a new and improved long-term deal.
Already under contract until the end of the 2014 season, Green's new deal now takes him to the conclusion of the 2016 campaign.
Coming on the back of his match-winning derby try and playing a part in Friday night's impressive victory over reigning champions Leeds, even a bicep injury picked up in that game hasn't dampened the prop's mood.
"It's been a great week. I am on cloud nine at the minute," Green told the Mail.
"I'm really happy to sign with the club for another three years. I've been working hard and got my reward with a three-year deal.
"It has been a massive confidence boost. I've been trying to work hard, first to get in the team and then by keeping working hard to stay in the team, so to get a contract on the back of that is great.
"Now the contract is out of the way, it is time to really knuckle down and focus on progressing. It's time to see how far I can go."
Green left the field early in the 18-6 victory over Leeds Rhinos on Friday night, sustaining a bicep injury.
The former Skirlaugh Bulls player says he could have continued but his withdrawal was to prevent making the injury any worse.
And until he's had the injury assessed further this week, he's determined to be positive that a lengthy spell on the sidelines can be avoided.
"Taking me off was more precautionary than anything," added Green.
"Hopefully, I am a quick healer, but we will assess the injury during the week and take it from there.
"Right now I am not telling myself I am out for any length of time, I will wait until it is assessed later in the week and for now I'm keeping positive."
Any sort of spell on the sidelines will be a blow to Green and Hull, who already face the prospect of being without veteran Mark O'Meley for the trip to Catalan after the prop sustained a hamstring pull against the Rhinos.
