KRIS Welham will see a specialist to determine the full extent of his shoulder injury.
Coach Craig Sandercock hopes the injury can be managed for him to continue playing and delay surgery until the end of the season.
Sandercock will have Jason Netherton available for selection for the remainder of the sseason after impressing in the 219th derby.
Winger Dave Hodgson will return to the side against Bradford this weekend, while Rhys Lovegrove has an outside chance of facing the Bulls at MS3 Craven Park.
