RICHARD Horne is 'very unlikely' to face defending Super League champions Leeds Rhinos on Friday as Hull FC await a specialist's verdict on a foot injury suffered in Saturday's derby.
Horne, one of the Black and Whites' stand-out performers so far this season, has been sent for scans on a foot tendon injury which saw him leave the field at the Etihad Stadium on crutches.
Director of rugby at FC, Shaun McRae, says the club are looking at a 'short to medium' term injury, adding that it was highly unlikely he would feature this week.
"It seems to be a tendon problem in his foot and one which should be a short to medium-term injury, but we will only know more when he has seen the specialist," McRae told the Mail.
"As in most cases when a player leaves the field as Richard did on Saturday, it is very unlikely that they will play the following week."
Hull are set to switch Aaron Heremaia back into the halves alongside Daniel Holdsworth, as the club still awaits news on new signing Jacob Miller's visa.
McRae says no issues are expected with that adding: "I've known this process take anything from 10 days to a month. As soon as it arrives, he will be on the plane."
