HULL KR hooker Lincoln Withers says they badly need a win against Bradford on Sunday to ease the disappointment of their controversial derby loss to Hull.
Withers, who started on the bench, could do nothing in the closing stages as Hull scored three times to win 22-16.
The row rumbles on today over the final deciding try, which the RFL has admitted should not have stood, but for the 32-year-old KR man, it is time to move on.
Facing a Bradford side just two points ahead of Rovers in seventh, this weekend's clash will have a big impact on KR's play-off hopes.
And Withers wants to ensure all at Rovers are focused on the challenge ahead.
"A win against Bradford will ease the disappointment of Saturday's derby defeat," Withers told the Mail.
"That's the good thing about our sport, there is always another week. If we win then we can put the disappointment behind us."
Withers knows the Bulls are capable of beating anyone in Super League on their day, especially with his former Crusaders team-mate Jarrod Sammut pulling the strings.
But he says Rovers must focus on their own game, and build on the display which saw them lead for much of the derby at the Etihad Stadium.
"We have been improving the last couple of weeks, so it's more about us than Bradford," he said.
"If we hold the ball and compete like we have been in recent weeks, we'll be fine.
"It's about how quickly we get over the derby defeat and get on with things."
Withers was one of several KR players seen protesting after Chris Green's offside try was awarded at the Magic Weekend, but says he has played long enough to know, and accept, that a referee's call is final.
"It's always disappointing to lose in a manner like that, but we can't let it take us a long time to get over the decision," he said.
"Sometimes you win them and sometimes you lose them.
"It's a loss and we have to move on this week.
"We can take positives from our performance and keep the season going.
"The referees are out there to do a job and he made a call and we have to live with that call."
