TWO men have appeared in court after a family were subjected to a terrifying armed robbery.
A couple and their three young children were threatened during the attack at their home in Withernsea.
The 24-year-old father suffered minor injuries after the attack, while the mother and children are in shock.
Adam Richard Fellows, 25, appeared at Hull Magistrates' Court yesterday charged with robbery and possessing a knife in a public place.
Jamie Woodrow, 33, appeared at court on Saturday accused of robbery, possessing an imitation firearm and possessing an offensive weapon.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Peach said: "We are working with and supporting the family, who were clearly traumatised.
"I would like to stress the children were not harmed.
"It is very unusual for this to happen in this area. I would like to reassure residents that this is a rare and isolated incident."
Police were called to the family's home in Arthur Street at 11.40pm on Thursday.
Mr Woodrow was arrested shortly afterwards nearby, while Mr Fellows, of Fairfield Road, was arrested just after 8pm on Friday.
Det Sgt Peach said: "Our efforts are now in preparing the file for the prosecution case."
He said police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the crime.
Members of Mr Fellows's family were sitting in the public gallery when he appeared before the court yesterday.
District Judge Frederick Rutherford denied him bail after an application by his solicitor Lawrence Watts.
Judge Rutherford told him: "You find yourself before the court today in respect of matters which are very, very serious indeed.
"Your solicitor has asked for bail but I am going to remand you in custody."
Mr Woodrow was also remanded in custody when he appeared on Saturday.
Neither men entered a plea to any of the charges.
Both will next appear at Hull Crown Court on Wednesday, June 5.
Anyone with information about the attack should call Humberside Police on 101.
