HULL City fans must be over the moon to hear vice-chairman Ehab Allam promise to fully back manager Steve Bruce financially in the January transfer window.
The owners have obviously recognised that City will not get a better chance than the one they have now of securing a return to the Premier League.
They also know that in Bruce, they have a manager they can trust implicitly.
Ever since the Allams appointed Bruce in the summer to replace Nick Barmby, everything at the club has been positive.
He walked into the KC Stadium with a positive outlook as to what could be achieved.
And the way he has gone about the job from day one has transformed the mood around the club.
From the way he has managed players, bringing some from the shadows back into the side such as Paul McShane and Jay Simpson, to the way he comes across in the media, Bruce has painted City in a very good light.
In that time he has certainly won the respect and admiration of his employers, and given that, I can't really see how the owners could not back him at this stage.
There is possibly an argument to say that given the way City have started the season, and their current league position, no new additions are needed.
I'd probably still expect them to make the play-offs at least without any new additions to the squad in January.
However, that would be a major gamble for Bruce and the Allams to take, and having been told there is money available for him, Bruce will be rubbing his hands at the prospect of adding to his ranks.
I am sure he already has two or three main targets in place, and the feelers will have been out already to make those targets aware of City's interest.
For me, as I have said before, Bruce must bring in one striker at least.
However, I hope the Allams back him to bring in two new front-men if possible, as you can't have too many strikers at this time of a season.
Neil Warnock has often built his successful, promotion-winning sides around having six or seven strikers to choose from, as they are never all firing at once, and it gives a manager options and that added competition.
Given the season City have had so far, and the positivity around the club at present, the Tigers will be an attractive club to many players looking for their next step.
I am sure they will be looking at City and thinking the club offers them a very realistic chance of getting back into the Premier League, or reaching the top flight for the first time.
Bruce also will play a major part in attracting players during the window, and could be the key factor in some deals.
I know from my playing days how much of a buzz for me it was to sign for Peter Shilton at Plymouth, given all he had achieved in the game.
I am sure there will be many players out there who look at Bruce in the same way and would jump at the chance to work under him.
He knows how to lift players, speak to them positively and get the best out of them.
In fairness to the Allams, they have repeatedly put their money where their mouth is and they have continued to spend despite the huge investment they made to save the club.
They will know, though, that you only get what you pay for in business, and that will be the case next month. City can't afford to be left behind by the sides up there challenging with them.
As well as signing players, I am sure Bruce has looked at all other things which could affect his squad going forward.
Ahmed Elmohamady is an interesting one, as I wonder whether Sunderland may look at his loan and a possible recall.
Bruce may well have this down as a key area to deal with over the coming weeks, and he could well look to make sure that a longer term deal is sealed for the wing-back.
