CAPTAIN Gareth Ellis admits the trip to in-form Warrington is a 'big test' for his steadily improving side.
FC's big signing will be making his third appearance of the season following his return from a broken bone in his foot.
And he says tonight will give a good indication of where Hull's ambitions should lie this season.
"It's a big test for us," Ellis said. "Obviously, Warrington are playing some good rugby at the moment.
"It will be a good marker to see how far we've come.
"We were disappointed a few weeks ago when we played Wigan. I thought we played well but we didn't come up with the two points.
"It will be interesting to see how we've built on that."
Ellis accepts much expectation will fall on his shoulders as Hull look to break into Super League's 'big four'. But he says he knew that would be the case when signing a three-year-deal.
"That was part of the reason for me going to Hull," he said.
"It is a club with a lot of expectation and they've probably underachieved in recent years.
"I knew a lot of expectation would be on me and I thought that pressure would challenge me and bring out the best in me.
"Obviously, I didn't start the season in the manner I wanted to and it always adds to the pressure when you can't contribute, but the boys have been playing well in recent weeks and I've been able to slot into a team that's in good form."
