HULL: One of the city's busiest roads is to face extra traffic controls on Monday.
Spring Bank West will have temporary traffic lights installed for three weeks to prepare for the replacement of an ageing railway bridge.
In rush hour, traffic levels will be monitored and the signals controlled manually in an effort to minimise disruption.
The work will be carried out by Northern Gas Networks and a new £3.7m railway bridge is to be installed by Network Rail later this summer.
A section of Spring Bank West will be shut to traffic from August 19 to September 1 while engineers install it.
The closure has been deliberately timed to coincide with the school holidays when traffic volumes are traditionally lower than normal.
