Hull City's Egyptian fans cheered and danced as they celebrated the Tigers' promotion across the country which has provided three of the squad's stars.
Egyptians, who have adopted Hull City as their team because of the heavy Egyptian influence on the club, watched Saturday's game in their homes, bars and even work places.
Tens of thousands have been watching City's progress this year, the initial interest sparked by Assem Allam buying the club and then boosted by the arrival of Pharaohs stars Elmohamady, Gedo and Fathi.
After watching the game by satellite in Cairo, student Ramy Ahmed, 18, in Cairo said: "What a great success. It's a fantastic feeling when you see Egyptians having a big influence in Hull City's promotion. We are very proud. Good luck to the Tigers in the Premier League."
Samira Mahmoud, 18, also in Cairo, said: "Honestly I don't like football very much but I felt in every match Egypt was playing, not the Tigers, because of the big interest here and everywhere in Cairo."
Moshen Sameh, 40, in Alexandria, said: "I can imagine now seeing three Egyptian stars in one team in the Premier League in England. It will be outstanding and Hull City will be even more popular here next season."
Across the country there is no doubt that Egyptians, who are huge supporters of football, feel very proud of the historic success of City's trio of Egyptian stars after their great run in the Tigers' promotion push.
Fans here have never had three Egyptians playing at one time in a team in England. On top of that, with an Egyptian owner in Mr Allam, it means there has been growing following for the club.
The unprecedented interest in Hull started as soon as Assem Allam bought the club in late 2010, and increased further when Ahmed Elmohamady transferred to Tigers on loan from Sunderland.
But the Egyptian media haven't stopped talking about the Tigers since Al-Ahly duo Mohamed Nagy Gedo and Ahmed Fathi came on loan in January for six months. From then Egyptians regarded Hull City as an Egyptian club.
Since Gedo arrived in England, Pharaohs fans have been split on how successful he could be in the European leagues. But the view is the striker has proved that he deserves to play at that level after scoring five crucial goals in Hull's promotion bid.
But here in Egypt we are a restless lot. It has been frustrating that Gedo has been injured for the last few matches and that his performances after his spectacular start weren't as consistent. There are still unanswered questions about where Gedo's long-term future will lie.
But the most talked about issue back in Egypt was Ahmed Fathi's role. There was genuine shock that he didn't feature more heavily in Steve Bruce's side as he is widely regarded here as one of the best players in his position in Egypt and Africa.
Pharaohs fans aren't used to seeing their star trapped on the bench. After his move Fathi featured only once in the starting line-up and other appearances were limited to just a few minutes. His lack of involvement led a lot of people to call for him to return home - especially with the falling standard of football in Egypt.
Fathi himself seemed equally reserved about his options in Hull. Before Saturday's game he told reporters here: "Of course I hope to continue in Europe, especially in England, but the circumstances in Hull did not help me a lot, especially that Steve Bruce did not depend on me with the team.
"I hope that I had the chance to prove that I deserve a regular place with the Tigers, but the loan contract with the team is almost finished, and I'll see what the future has for me."
Although frustrated with the Fathi situation, fans here have re-discovered their love for Ahmed Elmohamady since his arrival in Hull. Opinions have changed a lot towards the player who surprised everyone with his outstanding performances since he moved to England.
Here in Egypt we did not expect much success when Elmohamady made the move from the Egyptian team ENPPI to Sunderland. But he has proven the opposite at Hull City with his outstanding performances, being crowned the club's player of the year and the supporters' player of the season.
Elmo has started 41 of City's 45 league games this season, and that's ensured his popularity in Egypt and the Arab world.
Elmo has clearly enjoyed the experience himself. He told reporters here: "It's been an absolutely fantastic season for us all and I will never ever forget every moment that I played with Tigers in my whole life. I would like to thanks everybody who believed in my skills."
For now, there are already many questions that worry Egyptian fans and there are millions in Egypt waiting eagerly for the answers. Will Gedo stay in Hull next season? Will Fathi's brief European adventure come to an end? And will Elmohamady return to Sunderland?
Off course the upcoming days will carry many of the answers, but there is no doubt that Hull's Egyptian trio have made the Tigers and football fans back here in Egypt very proud.
