Hull City have been promoted to the Premier League after the most dramatic of afternoons at the KC Stadium.
In a rollercoaster ninety minutes, Tigers fans saw their team come from behind to be within moments of the Premier League, only for a last-minute Cardiff penalty to leave Watford needing a single goal against Leeds to deny Steve Bruce's side at the last.
But with all eyes on Vicarage Road, Leeds scored in the dying moments to win 2-1 and send City up.
At the ground, after the final whistle at Vicarage Road, Hull City fans hugged each other and danced as they celebrated their promotion to the Premier League to the strains of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love With You."
Student Tom Ramshaw, 20, from Willerby said: "I can't believe it. I thought it was all over so many times. It's a fantastic feeling, just utter jubilation."
Danny Welburn, 19, of Sutton Park, said: "This is the greatest achievement I have witnessed. There was a lot of tension at the end but we get there in the only way Hull City could!
"It is a massive achievement, not just for the football club, but for the city.
"I had a feeling we would win but when we went a goal down, I thought it was all over.
"I can't wait to go back to the KC when we are in the Premier League."
Howden fan Brian Wild, 51, flew back from holiday in Spain to head straight to the KC for the game.
He said: "I have been coming to Hull City for 42 years, home and away, and this tops Wembley.
"I never thought we would get back to the Premier League so soon.
"We all have to thank the owners, Steve Bruce and the players.
"And here's a message for Nigel Pearson - he should have stayed at a big club."
Charlie Holmes, 19, hasn't missed a City game since the KC opened and was part of the crowd this afternoon.
She said: "It means the world to me. I was so nervous throughout the game. I just can't believe we've done it."
Vicki Orford, 36, from Sutton had gone to the game with her dad George Blakeston.
Vicki said: "What a rollercoaster. I have been up and done all week because I thought Leeds would get stuffed. I was sure City would have to win today. It has been an amazing season and the atmosphere today has been brilliant.
"People have to sit up and take notice of Hull City now. Why should we always be seen as the underdogs?"
Mr Blakeston, of North Bransholme, said he'd been coming to watch City since 1965.
"I never thought I'd see them in the Premiership once, never mind twice, in my lifetime. It means everything."
Student Lucy Davidson, 21, from Tickton said: "I didn't think we were going to do it. It is such an amazing feeling to be back in the Premier League. I was fearing the worst and I thought we were going to end up in the play-offs.
"Well done to Brucey and all the lads."
At the Griffin Pub in Anlaby Road, fans spilled out onto the road as passing cars tooted their support. As the fans poured out of the nearby KC, the drinkers went out to share in their joy.
Cheering to passing cars and waving to fans on the other side of the road, the street was transformed into a sea of black and amber.
Mark Marr, 22, from west Hull was watching the game with his brother Gary. He said: "Steve Bruce has done a brilliant job but Hull don't have put us through the wringer. I've never experienced as many twists and turns as I did today. I've never seen anything like it."
Brother Gary, 33, said: "I never thought I'd be chanting 'We love Leeds.' Out of all the teams to have done us a favour, who can believe it would be them?"
Mark Burnett, 50, was watching the drama unfold on TV with his son Corey, 21. Mark said: "I had black hair before this game but now it's gone grey. I was in total shock when I realised we'd gone up. There is going to be a great atmosphere in Hull all weekend.
"We are going to get to play in some amazing grounds now in the Premier League. I really hope I can make some away games. I will be signing in the stands."
Corey said: "I can't wait to get to all the big grounds. I'm hopefully going to get to as many away games as possible. I'm so excited we've gone up."
Fans took to social network sites within seconds of the final whistle at Vicarage Road to celebrate.
