HULL: A criminal was reprimanded for appearing in court wearing shorts.
Andrew Palmer, 23, pictured, arrived at Hull Magistrates' Court to be sentenced for a common assault wearing a pair of green shorts.
District Judge Frederick Rutherford told him: "Never come to this court again with shorts on. It is not Bridlington beach, it is a court of law."
Palmer, of Compass Road, north Hull, admitted assaulting a woman by pouring a can of beer over her head on March 23.
Palmer, who also admitted breaching a conditional discharge, was fined £110.
