HULL FC coach Peter Gentle says his side's hunger for success is greater than ever as they enter the second half of the Super League season.
The Black and Whites have found improved form in recent weeks, winning three of their last four league games after a disappointing start to the season.
Having gone toe-to-toe with leaders Wigan before being edged out last week, Gentle insists his players came away disappointed with the result.
And he says that marks a big step forward in attitude, not only from last season, but also the start of this campaign.
"It was good to be able to put a performance in, but we are still filthy and dirty about getting beaten," Gentle said looking back to last week.
"There are things we could have done better to win that game and we didn't so we still have a lot of improvement in us.
"We have been building every week, though, and we are hungry for success.
"It was a bump along the road last week and a bit of a setback as far as we were concerned.
"Many said 'well done, you got close to Wigan with four tries each' but we didn't get the two points and that's what we set out to do.
"We believe we can match it with these big sides, especially with the squad we are starting to assemble now and with the quality players coming back in."
The quality referred to by Gentle is club captain Gareth Ellis and stand-off Daniel Holdsworth, who will both return to face the Broncos tonight.
Ellis makes his long-awaited debut having suffered a broken bone in his foot whilst warming up on the opening night of the season.
Holdsworth, who has played just five times this season, is finally recovered from recurring headaches.
Facing a side which on paper poses a much lesser threat than Wigan, Gentle knows his team must avoid any complacency. But having seen his side train with a higher intensity this week, he says that will not be an issue.
"We have respect for any team and we haven't prepared any different to facing Wigan," he said.
"London were very good against St Helens, and the game speed at which they played was very quick, so they have some talent there, so we are on notice.
"We aren't expecting to turn up and get the two points, we have to go out and earn it.
"I am very confident there will be no complacency at all. If anything I have seen the intensity lift in training.
"The way this group is evolving, and the culture change here since last year, and even round one of this year, is not through my doing.
"We can only put the framework in and the players have got to run with it. They are doing it that."
