Archbishop to share his stories on TV's One Show
EAST YORKS: The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, will be appearing on BBC1's The One Show tonight promoting his new book.
John Sentamu's Faith Stories is a collection of 20 inspirational tales about ordinary people making a difference in their local communities.
He said: "It's great to be able to get the message about Faith Stories out as widely as possible.
"God is working through ordinary people up and down this country, bringing hope and transformation in tough situations.
"It's a real privilege to be associated with such a fantastic project and be able to share it with the millions of viewers."
ANLABY: Anlaby musician Andrew McLatchie is hoping to hit the right note after reaching the final of the British Blues Awards.
The 38-year-old guitarist is shortlisted in the category for best original song.
His song I'm No Superman was initially nominated by a BBC Shetland DJ.
Andrew, who performs as Half Dead Clatch, plays with a guitar, a slide and an amplified stomp board to produce a sound big enough for an entire band.
He said: "I've been playing guitar since I was 11 but only started getting into blues about three years ago."
After a vote by radio listeners, his nomination has now gone through to a public vote starting on Wednesday.

EAST YORKS: Traffic levels on the Humber Bridge increased by 10.3 per cent during April compared with the same period last year.
New figures compiled by the bridge board show a total of 537,469 vehicles used the crossing last month – 50,351 more than in April last year.
Traffic volumes have steadily increased since tolls were reduced by up to 50 per cent, 12 months ago following a debt write-off deal with the Government.
HULL: City councillors have voted in favour of a new 15m phone mast being sited directly opposite the main entrance to West Park on Anlaby Road.
Mobile phone operator Everything Everywhere applied for siting approval after deciding to relocate its current mast on top of the nearby derelict former Carlton cinema.
Some councillors claimed the new mast should be placed among a line of trees in West Park.
Councillor Alan Clark said: "The trees would mask the mast. I think it's a more suitable location."
