Dropping a cigarette in Hull city centre has cost a woman smoker £270.
Two neighbourhood nuisance officers working for Hull City Council saw Donna Michelle Wilcox, 39, dropping the cigarette onto the ground before she went into the York Smokers Kiosk in Carr Lane.
She was given a £75 fixed penalty ticket but failed to pay so was taken to Hull Magistrates Court and convicted in her absence.
Ms Wilcox, of Blandford Close, Bransholme, was fined £200 and was ordered to pay £50 in costs and a £20 victims surcharge.
Councillor John Hewitt said: "The council carry out regular patrols looking for environmental offences such as littering, commercial burning and fly tipping. We have hundreds of litter bins across the city and there is no excuse for littering.
"We want people to take responsibility and dispose of their rubbish properly so that the city is kept clean and tidy for residents and visitors."
You can report someone littering by visiting www.hullcc.gov.uk or calling 01482 300 300.
