A woman has died after an accident in Hessle Road, west Hull.
The elderly woman was with a two-year-old boy in a pram when she was hit by a lorry near the junction with Rugby Street. She was taken by ambulance to hospital but died of her injuries. The boy suffered cuts and bruises and is being treated in hospital. The accident happened at about 1pm. Hessle Road is closed in both directions between St George's Road and Division Road. It is expected to reopen at about 3.30pm. Traffic is queueing in both directions and police officers are directing traffic.Updated 2.50pm.
