BRETT Seymour has been released from his contract with Hull FC, the club has confirmed this afternoon.
It comes after spending the past two months on compassionate leave following a road traffic collision in Hessle in March.
In a statement on the club's website, Hull FC's director of rugby Shaun McRae said, "Brett is at a stage where he needs to be concentrating on a number of important aspects of his life, other than rugby league.
"He leaves Hull FC with our best wishes for the future."
Seymour added, "I wish to thank all the FC fans for their ongoing support. I have never experienced such passionate, supportive people and we are forever grateful.
"Our daughter Monroe Maria was born in Hull so this city will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
"I now focus 100 per cent on getting well.Thank you for everything."
The 28-year-old Aussie is now set for a stay in the Sporting Chance clinic as he addresses his personal problems.
The Mail understands he earned close to £150,000 a season on his deal, and his contract had another year to run.
