WHEN you've got an important decision to make, getting away from it all can give you precious space to consider your options.

Olympic boxer Luke Campbell has just returned from a luxury break at the JA Palm Tree Court Hotel in Dubai with partner Lynsey Kraanen to ponder his future.

The bantamweight boxer has revealed he is going to announce his decision about turning professional in two weeks.

Splashing around in the sea, these pictures show Luke has the world at his feet.

"Dubai was my first holiday in about two years," he said as he arrived back in Hull. "I really needed it and to spend time with my family."

And he said the biggest decision of his career was now imminent.

He said: "I went to New York to do a bit of training and I'll be making a decision about my boxing future in the next week or so, whether to carry on or go professional.

"I think I know what I'm going to do, it's an easy decision, I just need to make sure little things are right beforehand.

"There will be an announcement coming soon and I want to tell the people of Hull about it first."

Luke, 25, and long-term love Lynsey, 26, were thrilled to finally get some quality time together in Dubai.

He told press in the city it has been "non-stop" since he won gold and competed in ITV's celebrity talent show Dancing On Ice, finishing in third place.

"I have got my life back, things are calming down and I am going to get back to training," he said.

"From an attention point of view, it was difficult for the first six months after the Olympics and people knowing who I was, what I was doing and where I was going, but now I just get on with it.

"Being in Hull with a massive fan base has helped. I like being treated like one of lads, nothing will change me. It's been strange when people see me as a celebrity but it's really good.

"I love being involved in TV, so fingers crossed I can keep going in and out of it, but for me, now, my future is being the best sportsman I can be in the ring."

And he is taking his time to decide whether that means going professional or defending his title at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

He has been speaking to fellow boxer and friend Carl Froch for advice.

"I talk to him a lot," he said. "Carl is three times world champion and a really good guy. I also speak to David Haye, he's a great guy.

"You can take him a couple of different ways. He is a character but it's helped him get where he is in boxing."

While in New York getting back in the ring, he also chatted to journalists from a US magazine and posed for a photo-shoot.

He tweeted that he had been to "big meetings" in the city and posted snaps of stunning views in Manhattan.

Yesterday, the boxing sensation flew back from the States and touched down in London.

He then jumped on a train back to Hull to see his family, including young sons Lincoln and Leo.

Luke said: "There's a lot happening in London and I am up and down all of the time now.

"But I will be in Hull more and I just miss the people when I'm away, as well as obviously my family and friends.

"Hull looks after its own and that's what I love about my city."
