LONG-suffering residents have seen travellers move on to land close to their west Hull homes once again.
People living on the Boothferry estate have seen travellers come and go several times over the past couple of years.
A group of about six caravans and half a dozen horses are now on a car park close to Woolwich Drive.
Peter Corlass, 64, lives close to the car park in Anlaby Road South.
He said: "We are absolutely fed up of this. This is the sixth time they have been round here over the past couple of years.
"The council doesn't seem to be doing anything and the police won't go near them."
An inquiry was launched by the council's west area committee last summer after the handling of travellers on another site off the Boothferry estate.
Despite the council taking court action to have them removed, questions were raised over whether the situation could have been better handled.
Since then, an earth mound has been created to prevent vehicles entering Burnham playing fields but the travellers have moved to a car park close by.
The measures taken so far have not impressed some residents.
Mr Corlass said: "The vehicles are parked up on the kerbs. If we did that we would get done for it.
"They arrived at the weekend and we were told they would be gone by Monday but they are still here.
"They are going to the toilet in the bushes and the generators are buzzing all night. We are so frustrated."
Ward councillor Claire Thomas admits it is a difficult situation.
She said: "The bund put round Burnham playing fields has worked but, unfortunately, the travellers have moved to the car park.
"It is very, very frustrating for residents but I have urged the council to move more quickly in trying to evict the travellers.
"We think they may be the same travellers who have recently been evicted from Coronation Road North."
Last year, about 30 caravans parked on the council-owned playing field near homes for four weeks.
During previous appearances, residents complained of piles of rubbish being dotted around the field while some of the occupants were accused of defecating on the pavements.
The city council is planning to take court action this morning, applying for an Immediate Possession Order to have them removed.
Hull City Council has confirmed it has started proceedings to remove the travellers from the site.
Andy Burton, city streetscene manager, said: "The council is following its policy on unauthorised encampments and has started the legal process to move the travellers off the site near Millport flats in Tilbury Road.
"We are regularly monitoring the area and we will be taking measures to clean up the land as soon as the travellers have left the site."
