The future of Hull's HMV store looks secure after it was announced business has been sold.
The joint administrators of HMV has confirmed the sale of HMV's UK retail business to restructuring specialists Hilco UK.
Under the sale, 141 of HMV's stores, including the store in Whitefriargate, are transferred into the new ownership.
The store went into administration in January after it was hit by internet and download sales.
Joint administrator Nick Edwards: "We are delighted to have completed the sale of HMV's UK retail business to Hilco UK.
"The sale of the restructured portfolio secures the employment of 2,643 staff, saves one of the world's most iconic retail brands and provides a solid financial footing on which the business can be taken forward."
