A CYCLIST killed after hitting a stationary caravan on the A63 during a time trial event has been named by police.
Christopher Auker, 65, from Selby, was pronounced dead at the scene of Friday's accident, which happened on the westbound carriageway, near South Cave, at around 10.40am. A Land Rover Freelander, towing a caravan, had stopped at the side of the road. A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: "At the time of the collision it is believed the Land Rover and caravan were stationary in lane one of the A63 and the cyclist rode into the rear of the caravan." Officers say they would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the cyclist or caravan in the minutes leading up to it. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.↧
