Police have said they are no longer treating a suspected accosting in Willerby as an attempted child abduction.
Officers have said the suspected snatch attempt was a misunderstanding after a man came forward to say he was driving a white van in the area at the time.
As previously reported, police were contacted after two schoolboys were approached by a man in Willerby Square on Sunday.
The 12-year-old boys said the man had asked them to get into his white Ford Transit van.
It happened just days after a man tried to force a boy into a white van near Park Grove in Hull, which led to police investigating whether the two were linked.
However, after speaking to the van driver and the parents of the two boys', police have said no crime was committed.
A spokesman for Humberside Police said: "A member of the public contacted police after reading about what had happened. Police inquiries have revealed it to be a misunderstanding and no further police action is necessary."
Officers are continuing to investigate the attempted snatch near Park Grove, which happened on March 19, as well as an attempted accosting at the junction of Southcoates Lane and Preston Road, east Hull, on Saturday.
No arrests have been made and the police are unable to provide any more details.
Anyone with information should call Humberside Police on 101.
