Residents are being warned of further snow and freezing temperatures across East Yorkshire.

Tonight and Tuesday morning are the most likely times for snow showers, with forecasters warning a bitter wind will make temperatures feel below freezing.

A spokeswoman for the Met Office said: "It is quieter than it has been but there is always the risk of further snow showers.

"There could be a scattering of snow showers which will become more isolated but there will still be the potential for snow."

A "yellow" severe weather warning warning has been put in place for northern parts of the county - including the Wold west of Bridlington. It is valid from 8pm tonight to 9am on Tuesday.

Temperatures over the next few days will reach no higher than 3C but a strong easterly wind will make it feel significantly colder.

The chilly conditions are expected to continue into the middle of the week.
