Egyptian international Ahmed Fathi has spoken of his frustration at failing to command a place in Hull City's starting XI.
The defender - on loan at the KC from Al-Ahly - has made three substitute appearances for the Tigers but has yet to start.
And following the resumption of the Egyptian league last month after a year's absence following to the Port Said stadium disaster, Fathi says he believes Al-Ahly would like him back.
The Cairo side began the defence of their African Champions League title this week with a 2-1 win away to Kenya's Tusker.
"It's a problem for me because I'm not playing. But I came from Egypt to play," he told today's Independent.
"I train very hard, I play for the reserves, but I stay on the bench. I don't know why.
"But I need to work. I have to work."
Fathi, who joins up with the Egyptian national side this week along with fellow Tigers Gedo and Ahmed Elmohamady, also spoke about the tragic events in February last year when 70 people died during and after a match between Al-Masry and Al-Ahly.
He was on the pitch when the confrontations began. Afterwards, his teammates had to flee to the dressing room when a number of Al-Masry supporters stormed on to the pitch.
"I remember injured supporters coming into the dressing room and I think two, maybe three, died," he said. "I remember going to see families of people who died before I went home."
Egypt face Zimbabwe on March 26.
