WHERE Gedo required 90 seconds to celebrate his home debut against Derby with a goal three weeks ago, George Boyd needed just 47 seconds to repeat the feat in Hull City's 5-2 demolition of Birmingham City.
The instant impact of the two loan arrivals takes some believing as the Tigers head to Crystal Palace this evening, but manager Steve Bruce believes his new attacking union has provided City's promotion push with a perfectly timed lift.
Paired for the first time, Gedo and Boyd both bagged a brace apiece to make Birmingham's visit to the KC one to remember.
Joining a side often haunted by attacking insecurities this season, Gedo and Boyd have already contributed seven goals to book four consecutive home wins.
Gedo's start to a loan move from Al Ahly was impressive with three in three, but the arrival of Boyd from Peterborough has given Bruce even greater cause for promise ahead of tonight's trip to Selhurst Park.
"Boyd and Gedo have come in and given us a lift at just the right time," said Bruce.
"Although we all knew Gedo had talent and was scoring regularly for Egypt, there was always the question mark about how he would settle.
"It's been a dream start for him. Five goals in five games is a wonderful return for a striker that's new to the English game. You couldn't ask for much more.
"Now George has come in and hit the ground running too.
"We saw his quality at Bolton and then he's produced a terrific performance against Birmingham.
"No disrespect to Peterborough but he's around better players here and that can help him flourish. He's got a wonderful appetite and the crowd have taken to him straight away. Just at the right time he's come in and what a player."
Boyd is braced for a hostile reception at Palace after rejecting a deadline day move to his boyhood club for an ill-fated Nottingham Forest switch.
Palace are not without attacking talents of their own, however, and Bruce heads to the capital wary of the threats posed by tonight's hosts.
As well as Wilfried Zaha, on loan from Manchester United after a £17m January deal, and Yannick Bolasie out wide, the Eagles boast English football's top goalscorer in Glenn Murray.
With 27 goals in 31 Championship appearances, the 29-year-old is yet to go three games without a goal.
Murray missed the first meeting of the sides – a 0-0 draw in late November – through suspension, and Bruce knows his defence must be at their very best to contain a team that has scored 41 goals in 17 home games.
"It's a remarkable achievement to have scored the goals Murray has and then in Zaha they've got one of the outstanding players in the Championship," he added.
"With Bolasie and Stephen Dobbie as well they're a big threat to any team so we know we're going to have to defend well."
